Green Tea and Whiskey

...all bought from 7-11, is a dangerous pregaming technique. But its kind of my new staple...

So I helped one of my friends who is the coordinator for a campus exchange program with his English; there wasn't much helping needed and reminded and inspired me how much I need to learn in Japanese still.

Friday was pretty chill and all, it was nice. Just had some drinks with a few friends at a local bar called Chasen, where they know the bartender personally and he made us some amazing banana and sesame seed smoothies. The weirder it sounds, the better it tastes is often the case over here...

Saturday was definitely intense. The weather was rough the first part of the day but it was a good excuse to laze around the dorm a little and just sit and talk with everyone. By that evening we were all pretty antsy and so decided to vent by going to Sam and Dave's (an Australian-owned club) again. After plenty of walking and pregaming, we had an amazing time at the club again. Meeting tons of new people, drinking some great drinks, and even getting on stage and being the gaijin centers of attention we Americans tend to be. We were out until the trains started back up again, so 6am, and I didn't get to bed until 7. Was it worth it? Of course, I got to have fun and learn more about Japan!

The weather is dismal again today, but this week looks like it will be fun. I have to help Kide-kun again on Monday, so maybe he can help me with some Japanese. We have Wednesday off because of the beginning of Golden Week, and I don't have class on Thursday, so I just have to make it three days this week, then celebrate Golden Week by using my card when it gets here a lot, mostly just for trips though. I still want to visit Nara and Kyoto, so we'll see how that goes!

It's really cold out. I'm so jealous of everyone else's nice weather. I'm sure I'll be getting plenty of heat soon. And I'll add pictures to this post later too, I'm getting back to the warm and dry!
