So today we finally started classes, and I finally found out my schedule. Well tenatively. The international program doesn't really have it all together, evidenced by when they booked me for two classes today at the same time in rooms next to each other. But it's all sorted out, I'm taking level 3 Japanese, Japanese Politics, Japanese Literature, and Japanese Computerization and Society. I had the first two today, both went great, I'll definitely learn a lot fast; well I'll have to to survive an all Japanese language Japanese class. I got to do Kaiten sushi today, which is really cheap, great sushi for a dollar a plate. And its served on a conveyer belt. Japan does it right. Uhhh let's see...yesterday we also went to another local okonomiyaki place which ended up actually being this old lady's kitchen. And naturally the food was amazing. The school had its Spring Festival, which was pretty tame, but there were some great flowers and I met some Japanese people wanting to practice their English. Those kind of deals are mutually beneficial. Later the internationals went to an American-style bar called GB's (which is going to be my Osaka Parrothead's, I can tell), where we just chilled with a few drinks and I got a chance to talk to one of Japanese students who's the leader of a KU club on campus. He invited me to yakitori with him and some friends so I'm pretty stoked, even if it does take me awhile to translate his all-Japanese texts. Some of the internationals split early to go to a club in Umeda which I'm pretty excited to try out, and one of the kids from USC spent all night talking to the boxing team, who convinced him with free drinks to join their club. The first week is already interesting...no big plans for tomorrow, only a Japanese writing class. I might take the chance to change some money and do a little solo sightseeing. Most of the other internationals don't move at my pace haha. I'll keep in touch though!
